Central to our worship is the Sunday Eucharist (communion) which is usually celebrated at the high altar.
We hold our Eucharist Service at 10.30am in church on Sundays, which once a month is an All-Age service.
On other weeks there are childrens’ activities at the back of the church and a monthly Sunday school.

On Wednesdays we have a short Morning Service at 9.15am in the Lady Chapel with BCP (or other style) Holy Communion usually on
the last week of the month, and Morning Prayer on other weeks.
We are a warm, welcoming church and for any of the more personal services mentioned below we can assure you of both our care and support.
Weddings

At All Hallows, we would be delighted to welcome you and your family to celebrate your Wedding in our historic church for your special day. We will work closely with you to create a personalised ceremony that reflects your love story and traditions.
The initial step is to book a meeting with Rev Emma. She’ll then be able to guide you through service planning and arranging for banns to be read. Banns are read on three consecutive Sundays during the Eucharist Service. Couples like to attend these readings as it is a significant step towards their Wedding. Arrangements will be made for a visit to put detail into the arrangements for the service e.g. music, choir attendance, readings etc. Then prior to the Wedding day a rehearsal will be scheduled.
Baptism/Christening
After agreeing a date for your child’s baptism a meeting will be arranged with you to explain what is exactly going on at Baptism and why it is important. Your child’s Baptism will normally take place during the main Sunday service. This is so that your child can be seen to be joining the family of the Church and be welcomed into membership. In turn the Church will promise to support and pray for you and your child.
There are a number of important symbols used during the service. There is the sign of the cross – this is an invisible badge to show that Christians are united with Christ. The next symbol used is water – water is a sign of washing and cleansing. In Baptism it is a sign of being washed free from sin and beginning a new life with God. Next is the Anointing – this is a sign of the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit and also shows the preciousness of your child. Finally you will be given a candle. Jesus is called the light of the world and the candle signifies the light which has come into your child’s life.
Please note that you are never too old to be Baptised and, when you are ready, we will be happy to prepare you to publicly declare your faith by being Confirmed.

Funerals

We’ll always be here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. Funerals are available to everyone and we will give support before, during, and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.
Unless the deceased is a member of the congregation, the first we, as the church, know of the death is when we are contacted by a relative, friend or funeral director to set a date and time for the funeral service. As soon as possible after we are informed we will be in contact with the family and will make arrangements to visit. It is at this time the minister taking the service can get an insight, albeit brief, into the life of the deceased and the order of service can be discussed.
OTHER SERVICES
At different times of the year, such as Remembrance Sunday or Mothering Sunday, we will mark the day with a special service.
At Christmas and Easter we have a range of extra services, and we are always thrilled to invite local schools and young people’s organisations into All Hallows for their celebration and Carol services.
We can also arrange for a Blessing of Marriage or a Renewal of Marriage Vows, as well as memorial services.
If you have a special occasion you wish to celebrate within the church and in the presence of God, please do contact us.
CHURCH OF ENGLAND FEES
There are no fees for Baptisms. For Wedding and Funeral related services please click here for the current Church of England rates.
These fees do not include our church’s charges for heating, the services of a verger, or music (e.g. organist / choir) which will be discussed as arrangements for the service progress.
