All Hallows, like most other churches, relies on people’s generosity to provide income to pay for the running of the church and to make a contribution towards the Diocesan work and staff costs.
We are blessed with many people who give their time and effort voluntarily to provide a high quality service to our community, but there will always be bills to pay. We are very careful in managing our tight budgets and always look for ways in which we can increase our income so that we can provide a much better service.
The topics below show some ways in which we may all contribute towards All Hallows becoming a stronger church in our community
Prayer
Everything we do at All Hallows is founded on prayer, and raising funds is no exception. Jesus told us that God will provide for our needs through our faith and in prayer.
And so we pray that God will guide us all to use the resources He has given us in the best way possible; perhaps in ways we never imagined!
Giving
Many people give donations of loose cash, but did you know that there are ways in which we are able to make more from what you feel you are able to afford?
To save you worrying about cash, we are encouraging people to give regularly through making a Direct Debit agreement for us – we have teamed up with the Church of England’s Parish Giving Scheme to make this very simple to set up. Your donation comes direct to our account and the scheme adds a Gift Aid element for us. You can set this up here right now and you can make any changes whenever you wish.
You can also make donations directly from your phone by scanning our QR Code.
At most services, a collection will be taken during a hymn or perhaps when you arrive or leave church. You may also make a donation using our tablet and card reader (just like you would in a shop), which is by our welcome desk.
As a charity we are able to claim an extra 25p for every pound that tax payers donate to the church – so your £10 becomes our £12.50.
If your donation is under £20 we can apply for this automatically, but if it is over £20 we will need you to give us some of your personal details. For occasional payments, you can write this on a special envelope within which you put your donation. If you plan to give regularly, you can sign up for Gift Aid and use weekly dated envelopes for your cash giving – no more forms to fill in!

Easy Fundraising
We are registered with Easyfundraising which gives us a small donation for each transaction they process. Sounds complicated but it is a very easy way for the church to earn through your on-line purchases, without you putting your hand in your pocket! They also have special offers!
If you are planning to make any online purchase, go first to Easyfundraising and register yourself as a supporter of All Hallows Ipswich. Then search for the retailer you want and (if they have signed up) go to their site – all done! Save to your favourites and use when you like.
Gifts and Donations
People often make one-off gift donations to the church and these are very welcome. Again, if they are made by tax payers we can claim Gift Aid once we have the donor’s personal details.
Sometimes donations come as bequests in a person’s Will and we will be happy to talk with you if you need advice about this way of giving.
If donations are made for a specific purpose, we account for them separately so we can be sure the gift is being used in line with the donor’s wishes.
Events and Hall Hire
We are blessed with a glorious church building and superb hall facilities as well as open space. So we make the most of it by holding events for the community as often as we are able. These may, for example, be fun days, creative days, games days, quizzes, bingo, music etc. etc.
These are usually organised and run by the church community for all to enjoy and raise much needed funds for our church through charges, sales, raffles etc.
We welcome everyone to these events and would certainly welcome support from helpers!
By hiring out our halls for occasional or regular bookings, we are able to provide a much-needed service to our community.
We keep the fees low so that the halls are affordable but any profit we make forms a valuable part of the income of the church.

Giving of time and skills
Last but definitely not least is giving of ourselves. We rely on people to share their gifts and skills to help us keep a vibrant church going for the benefit of our community. There are so many ways in which we voluntarily support our church by coming together to make things happen – the list is endless – and each one of us can make a contribution, however small.
